Bangalore [BBMP] experimenting rubber roads.

After investing crores of money and lots of renovations on roads to overcome potholes and drainage problems every year, BBMP is experimenting new thing to over complaints and bad roads, which caused due to heavy rains every year. In journey to make better roads and protecting from sewage and floods, BBMP has planned and experimenting this new techniques.To mention about rubber roads, they are not actually rubber, it's rubberised asphalt roads.

Rubberised asphalt is obtained by the incorporation of rubber in asphalt binder at certain conditions of time and temperature using either dry process or wet processes.
France was then given credit for installing the very first road with a rubberised bituminous surfacing material. The application of rubber-modified asphalt pavement later started in Alaska in 1979.

These are many facts why rubber roads are good, here is list of few.

• 'Rubber roads' are made from regular asphalt concrete mixed with rubber crumbs obtained from recycled rubber tyres and other materials. 
• These roads are very effective in their own way and durable due to high elasticity of rubber. Thus roads last longer and longer comparatively. Additionally, these roads reduce road sound pollution and very less noisy.

For information, Ernakulam - Muvattupuzha road in Kerala state is rubberised asphalt roda and proved lasting good and well and very effective so far.
