Don’t be much surprised by reading headline, though it is not going to be real money from now on, it value Remains same but freedom is not same as we had till now. Now on less freedom of using credit card with paytm, May be in future it is going to be same with other major players, but you have already noticed the gain players like whatsapp Payment and Google Tez payments doesn’t allow you to use credit card or cc to May payments. May be this is for numerous reasons.
But paytm does this for its customers over the night without much advertising or prior campaigns.
Now paytm has new rule, that the money added via cc or credit card would now appear under paytm vouchers , so it would be vouchers and not the real or virtual money and hence your freedom on the money added using credit card to paytm is not gonna be same as good old days. Now the money added via credit card or virtual credit card will be your paytm vouchers, vouchers are always meant to in-house redeemtion and hence you freedom on that money is very less now, now with that vouchers you could buy anything from paytm mall, paytm website or app services, nothing more than this, or might be more limited than these too. So next time when you want to load money to paytm wallet, keep this in mind, that money is gonna be paytm vouchers instead of virtual currency.
In future paytm May withdraw or reframe this rule, may they ask commission on credit card using for wallet loading or in some other way, but at the end user is hurt for good and bad. Make sure your friends and family aware of this.
This this does by paytm also indirectly affects the uber taxi and uber eats, since paytm is primary wallet for uber taxi and uber eats.
